Abstract

This scientific initiation project aims to investigate the theatrical production of female playwrights, translators or actresses in activity between 1930-1970 in the theater scene of São Paulo, using the "Miroel Silveira Archive" as a basis for the research. This archive, part of the USP library collection, gathers theater plays presented to the censorship of the "public entertainment department of São Paulo". With over 6000 processes, "Miroel Silveira Archive" contains precious information about the theater in that period. Are mentioned in these documents, names of female authors, adapters, translators and actresses who remained unknown to the general public and to the history of Brazilian theater. (AU)
