Abstract

With the concern to build homes that meet his needs, mankind has assured access to own a home through the Residence Capitalist System, which appeared in the second half of the twentieth century. This system allowed people from different strata among the population to own their homes.This research project aims the study of construction pathologies (origins, kinds and causes), related to the behavior of the foundations of a sample of habitable units of a complex located in Bauru - Nobuji Nagasawa delivered in the year of 1999.Problems like these are very common in the region of Bauru, since the soil possess colapsable characteristics that can press down on the foundations and make cracks and fissures - which are manifestations of the most common pathologies.This being, the analyze of construction pathologies, related to the behavior of foundations, can serve as an indication to future projects of habitable complexes, under the importance in taking in consideration the characteristics of the soil in the project of the foundations, since habitable complexes like these, normally are implanted in areas of cut and or landing.The study will also serve as an orientation to the mutuarys about the importance in hiring architects and engineers professionals in order to have the proper assistance in cases of remodeling and ampli¬fications in homes so that these kinds of mistakes may be avoided, having a better quality of life.
