Abstract

The goal of this project is to develop a research on the use of technologies in the music courses at the University of Campinas. The choice of that institution is justified by its history of technological innovation within the education and music areas. Two main actions will be part of the project: the observation of disciplines that make regular use of technologies, identifying which are its core elements (hardwares, softwares and procedures) and how they are presented during classes; and participations in disciplines in which technologies are not used, aiming the integrating of new technological resources. The researcher will develop plans and, in case they are approved by the teachers, will take part in the implementation, accompaniment and assessment of those new practices. There will be plans for the classroom, as complements of current activities, and alternatives in the electronic nets, using online tools as a mean for music education. The development of the project will have technical and scientific support of NIED (Nucleus of Informatics applied to Education) and NICS (Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Sound Communication). As a final product, a manual on music technologies will be produced, possibly for publication in book form, serving as a reference for music teachers and students.
