Abstract Mastitis is known like an inflammatory process of the mammary gland with few works in Brazil in meat sheeps. Mastitic glands and their influence upon weight gain of lambs and animal health of ill ewes is an interesting subject to the ovine breeders. Moreover, the study of the main microorganisms of mastitis is relevant to the knowledge of epidemiological aspects from clinical and subclinical illness. This design will research the S. aureus participation in the ovine mastitis and its resistance patterns to several antimicrobials, and consequent research of mecA gene in the "MRSA". Milk samples will be obtained from positive glands to the California Mastitis Test and from glands with clinical mastitis to subsequent infectious microorganisms identification and evaluation of antimicrobial sensitivity "in vitro". S. aureus is a relevant agent to the public health due toxins produced, beyond multiresistance characteristics of the MRSA samples. The results can to help the performing of later actions to the prevention and control from mastitis in the meat sheeps, that will enable correct treatment schemes and prophylaxis. (AU) | |
