Abstract

The objective is to use conventional radiographic techniques of X-ray employing an electronic radiation exposure monitor to real-time establishment of optimum conditions of exposure of the film, during the inspection of damage and defects in aircraft structural components made of composite sandwich panels. The goal of the work is to develop a relatively simple procedure, fast and efficient culminating in the substantial reduction in the number of plaques and radiographs, thus creating a highly positive impact both in quality of radiographic images, as in reducing time and cost ofnon-destructive inspection of composite materials.
