Abstract

The aviation and aerospace industries have increasingly used composite materials in the structures of their aircraft or space structures. Many parts before made of metallic material, are switching to composite materials secondary structures: flaps, leading edge and primary: fuselage, are following this trend. For the aircraft car -, increasingly uses this type of material, it is necessary the knowledge of its properties and for this; mechanical, physical and chemical tests must be conducted on specimens that simulate the new idealized structure. Currently in Brazil are not found qualified companies for the production of specimens in composite materials, inspection and structural tests, at the same time that attend the productive chain of the aviation/space industry, serving requirements of international standards. Due to this scenario, this project proposal aims the development of training for manufacturing, cutting and dimensional inspection and non-destructive specimens in composite materials, for performing mechanical, physical, chemical and thermal tests. For this, plates will be made composite material, from prepregs of glass and carbon fiber/epoxy resin, and tab bonding, cutting and testing specimens, besides monitoring of cure, by DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), metallography and acid digestion to check presence of voids. With this project is expected to have a capable industry to comply with all of specimens manufacturing cycle, from production, inspection and testing, combining high quality and traceability, high security, flexibility and productivity. The impacts of this project involves the prompt attention to manufacturing of specimens for aerospace and defense installed in the country, with direct impact in the development and production of new products as well as compliance with safety certification requirements by regulatory agencies the sector.
