Abstract

The project aims to develop a computer system to support the tactical analysis of goalball games. Goalball is a paralympic sport specially designed for blind athletes. The tactical analysis will be performed by interpreting the information of goalball matches stored in a database. The recording of information in the database will be performed interactively during a match or at postgame by automatic video analysis. The system will be used to define training strategies and for supporting decision making during goalball matches. The system will be developed in cooperation with the current coach of the Brazilian Paralympic Women's Goalball Team. The validation of the system will be performed using video of goalball matches and during training of teams under supervision of the coach.
