Abstract

Tanaidacea is a megadiverse group, congregating 25 families, 200 genus and more then 900 species around mundial ocean, divided in 3 suborders: Apseudomorpha, Neotanaidomorpha e Tanaidomorpha. The group is one of most important component on soft bottom macrofauna. Apseudomorpha are common on deep sea samples that, without taxonomic identification, remain compromising environmental monitoring studies on oil drift areas, where usually are sampled. Collections of Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo (MZUSP) and Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ) from brazilian deep sea not still unknown had motivated the Apseudomorphan taxonomic study, disclosing new species to science.
