Global financial crisis and the forced return of dekasseguis: an ethnographic study on the conditions and hardships that dekasseguis face in returning to Brazil, influenced by the economic crisis of 2008/09

Abstract

The research consists in an ethnographic study regarding the massive and possibly forced return of the dekasseguis to Brazil considering the economic scenario promoted by the financial crisis iniciated in the United States in 2008 and achieved high impact in Japan during the years 2008 and 2009.In general, I propose an analysis about the conditions and the situation that those returning dekasseguis faced when arriving in Brazil based on the experiences observed at two Nikkei's NGOs who render free services to those who have returned.
