Abstract

Implantology popularization brings great advances for available commercial systems in relation of size, shape and infrastructures materials options, as for implants itself as for prosthetic components, amplifying the clinical use possibilities. Several factors can affect the cylinders´ marginal fit, with casting process and investment type among them. In dental market there are great variety of available investments, some of them could be used in a fast heat cycle, reducing the total time spent to make the cast piece. In consequence, the objective of this study will be to verify the standardization of internal dimensions and marginal fit of prefabricated calcinable cylinders, before and after casting process. In addition, will be analyzed the influence of the heating cycle of investment (conventional and fast) over the casts quality. To verify the internal space standardization of cylinders the silicone replica technique will be used, and the marginal fit will be verified under optical microscopy, both before and after the casting.
