Abstract

The present research proposal is about the fluid-dynamic and drying studies under the pulsed fluidization regime. In the pilot plant of the Chemical Engineering Dept. of the Mauá Engineering School there is a pulse fluid-bed dryer which was built with the financial support of FAPESP (Process 01/10731-5). Fluid-dynamic and drying experiments with inorganic salts (potassium chloride and sodium acetate) will be carried out with the objective of performing fluid-dynamic and drying kinetic analysis. The raw material will be supplied by the Labsynth company (Diadema - SP). In their process, a conventional fluidized bed is used for drying, in an operation subsequent to the crystallization and centrifugation. The results will allow the comparison of this technique with the conventional fluidization. The influences of the following variables will be analyzed: frequency of pulsation bed, airflow rate and temperature of inlet air. (AU)
