Antisepsis in the administration of medicines through parenteral tract

Abstract

The general aim of this work is to investigate among professionals of nursing of a hospital in São Paulo countryside, factors related to the accomplishment of the antisepsis of the patient's skin before the intramuscular medication, through endovenosa and insert of peripheral catheter. The specific objectives are to verify the existence of the previous preparation of the skin before the antisepsy; besides identify the technology, used procedures and the degree of importance attributed by the nursing professionals to that procedure. Followed by the precepts of CONEP (Resolution 196/96), the project was submitted and approved by the Committee of Ethics and Research of the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto/USP, under protocol 1000/2009. It is a no experimental, exploratory and descriptive study, to be accomplished at a secondary hospital in São Paulo countryside. The collection of data will be made by the own researchers, in pre-determined date by the institution, together with the nursing professionals that carry out their work activities in the units of clinical internment of this hospital and that agree with the signing of the free and illustrious term of consent. For the accomplishment of the collection of data it will be used a collection instrument with objective and discursive questions. The data will be analyzed with the support of the software SPSS R and presented by discursive report.
