Abstract

It is intended to study time-periodic systems. Gennerically the classical mechanics of such systems includes chaotic motion even for only one spatial degree of freedom. Common examples are multiphoton ionization, the kicking of molecules by short laser pulses or beam-beam interactions in particle storage rings. The proper quantum mechanical description of these systems involves Floquet states. The intended work includes the quantization of resonance the semiclassical quantization, generalizing the Gutzwiller periodic orbit theory and the study of spatio-temporal correspondence between classical densities and quantum mechanical densities of Floquet states.
