Abstract

The objective of this work research project is to develop a constructive and instrumentation plan of a special furnace for structural pieces tests like girders and plates, in fire situation, with different structural materials, in order have the details for the construction of one furnace in the Department of Structural Engineer of School of Sao Carlos Engineering of Sao Paulo University as a part of a Thematic Research Project. Also a participation on a research project related to guard rail posts in development at FPL is proposed with the purpose to add this study in the next review of Timber Bridges Handbook funded by FAPESP as a Thematic Project also developed during 2002/2006 period. These studies will be supervised by the Resarchers James P Wacker and Robert White from FPL. (AU)
