The aim of this project is to develop and test automatic methods, linked with field parameters, on the determination of a soil map. The work will be developed in the cities of São Carlos, São Paulo State, with a 8000 ha dimension. It will be acquired several thematic information’s such as, satellite information (landsat and Aster), color aerial photographs, gamma ray information and relief information. Also, it will be linked information of spectral data (400-2500 nm) of soils acquired at field level. All data will be processed (images, statistics) in a SIG system obtaining a soil map. The final soil map will be compared with a field traditional one for validation. New field works will also be performed to validate the method. (AU)
