Abstract

It's known that sleep deprivation (SD) can rapidly change the GABAa receptor. Sleep rebound is a homeosthatic response wich follows the SD. Zolpidem is a very selective GABAa-benzodiazepine agonist to the hypnotic effect, while Diazepam does not present such a selectivity. The main goal of this study is to investigate how sleep rebound and the hypnotic effect of those agonists could be affected by SD using the Sleep EEG frequency analysis technique. (AU)
