Abstract

This research project aims at studying the arguments and the genesis of the following works: How to live together [Comment vivre ensemble] written in 1977 by Roland Barthes; Georges Perec's Speces of spaces [Espèces d'espaces] (1973) and The Caribbean Discourse [Le discourse antillais] (1981) by Edouard Glissant. These books are taken as examples of a new critical proposition which refuses interpretation and uses fragmentation as an instrument of knowledge. This proposal comprises an attentive reading of the works-object and other works written by the same authors, the observation of their creative process and also the study of their influence and reception. The project includes a research stage in Paris, which will be dedicated to the study of the critical literature about these authors and a direct consultation of their private sources. (AU)
