Abstract

We present in this project the research plan to be developed in collaboration with the Relativity and Gravitation group at the Instituto de Física Fundamental (part of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Spain), headed by prof. Pedro F. Gonzalez Diaz. This group has done proeminent work where the usual termodynamical proprieties of black holes were extended to wormholes. We propose to bring together the techniques related to thermodynamical and dynamical stability, very well established in the context of black hole physics, and apply them to the comparatively much less explored wormhole physics. Specific project goals include a thermodynamical analysis of asymptotically flat and anti-de Sitter wormhole backgrounds and the development of relations among thermodynamical and perturbative quantities in models of interest. The theoretical tools to be developed in the project are potentially interesting for collaboration in Brazilian groups. (AU)
