Abstract

The research project includes field data analysis and its interpretation for structural design of both concrete pavements employing reduced length and width and composite pavements (asphalt courses over concrete bases). The research involves both the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota in US. Field data comprises heavy vehicle simulator performance responses, including strains and pavement temperatures, as well as FWD tests for back calculation of layers module. The study shall allow better specification for the design of such pavement structures with technological innovations compared to conventional concrete pavements. (AU)
