Abstract

Both higher-order electromagnetism and gravitation in (2 + 1) dimensions with a Chern-Simons term will be studied. As for as the electrodynamics is concerned, the quantization for the abelian case will be performed by using the canonical Dirac algorithm and the path-integral method. Causality and unitarity of the gravitational model will be discussed at the tree level. (AU)
