Abstract

We present research plans to theoretically investigate spin-dependent physics, and its connection with quantum computing, in a variety of novel magnetic semiconductor heterostructures. More specifically, we shall study (i) miniband electronic structure of newly-developed Mn-based n-doped digital-magnetic superlattices and spin superlattices, (ii) novel modulation-doped magnetic quantum wells, and (iii) some alternative model systems possibly relevant for implementing quantum logic gates (e.g. coupled magnetic quantum dots).
