Abstract | |
This study aims to analyze a portion of the pictorial production of the painter Georgina de Albuquerque (1885-1962), whose subject is the representation of women in work situations. Taking as starting point the screen in coffee plantation (1926), this dissertation undertook an analysis of the iconographic production of the artist, from a comparative perspective, which places the works in dialogue with national and international artistic tradition. The dissertation aims to understand how the works problematize dimensions such as gender, race and work, reflecting how these categories relate to the speeches of the production period and circulation of works, namely, decades of 1920-1940.
