Abstract

The challenge of this research lies on conducting an ethnography of a blog devoted and written by mothers, the Blog Mamíferas (Mamíferas being the Portuguese word for "mammalians"). Through the analysis of posted messages and interviews with developers of the blog ¿ the so-called "mamíferas" (mammals) - the aim was to show that their self-definition as feminists involves: the transformation of childbirth and childcare in moments of pure pleasure; the criticism of obstetric violence and of pediatrics' axioms; the perception of the fetus and the baby as subjects of rights; and the definition of a new script for fathers (AU)
