Abstract

The head loss of solid-liquid draining mixtures in horizontal forced conduits in the heterogeneous regimen, can be calculated by knowing a parameter «I» of adimensional sediment carrier. This adimensional depends on the draining average speed, on the relative density and the solid grain size, on the conduit diameter, and on experimentally determined constant (KD). In this subject literature, constant KD assumes diverse values, depending on the author, what it means that it is not sure it is really a constant. For the mixture water-sand, one calculated the values of KD, that if deals with a parameter that depends on the outflow of the draining, of the diameter of solids and the concentration of the mixture, and not a constant as if it finds in literature. For the watercalcareous mixture, it is impossible to get coherent values for KD. This atypical behavior is due to the small representative diameter of this solid. An equation was developed to calculate the attrition factor f of the Head Loss Universal formula, on such way it can measure a stresses tubing to carry this mixture (AU)
