Abstract | |
The main objective of this dissertation is to analyze the juridical instances on the careless child since the creation of the ¿Censo estatistico dos orfãos pobres¿ (Statistic census of the poor orphans), in 1866 till its extinction in 1899, from the crossing of criminal processes, tutelary actions and specific legislation about the child question elaborated in XIX century, present in the criminal code and in the Filipinas ordinances. Another concern is to recover how poor children came face to face with the intensification of these juridical performances. Through the analysis of what I name ¿social profile¿ of the children, I¿ll try to analyze not only the ethnic and age group characteristics, but also the everyday practices and strategies created by them. The intention is to understand how and how far those individuals assimilated and made use of these juridical formalizations in order to constitute their world visions (AU) |
