The master’s research title “A Notícia”: a Picture of Rio Preto’s journalism in 1950 is to analyze the jornalistic contents of the newspaper “A Notícia”, in São José do Rio Preto city, in São Paulo state, during the 1950 – period has passed into journalism’s history as a time when concepts such as objectivity, neutrality and professionalism entered once in the agenda. The central theme is the provincial press represented by the Rio Preto’s periodic, focusing on portraying the media profile of the sheet, in other words, your editorial profile over the period, indicating the language, the journalism techniques and conceptions defended on journalistic practice. Our goal is to analyze the framework provided by the newspaper the theme concerned, the production techniques used and its position in relation to journalistic practice, and the formatting of the printed pages, for in this way identify the type of journalism produced during the period in this locality in São Paulo. There fore, we will use as methodology the descriptive analysis, criticism and interpretation of the story, inspired in Content Analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin (2009), together with research and literature comparison.
