Abstract | |
The present work dealt with the theme of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and its relationship with the social appropriation of information, focusing on the meaning of the use of Free Software and its peculiarities, as a proposal of public policy adopted by the Brazilian government that promoted initiatives of incentive for adoption through the Ministry of Culture. It emphasizes the relevance of softwares as objects of study of an interdisciplinary thematic area (Softwares Studies). Free Software as a practice and the panorama proposed by Brazilian public policies in the three presidential administrations of the Workers\' Party (2003-2014), composes the scenario of the introduction of public policies for the use of Free Software in Brazil, compared to the previous scenario. The aim was to analyze the implementation of technological and cultural policies in their convergences and divergences, in the perspective of cultural and informational mediations. There was also a brief account of the changes in directions that cultural public policies have had in recent years. The results indicate legacies and developments arising from the network construction process and for possible future developments in the direction of comparative works. (AU) | |
