Abstract

The current visibility of quilombola women is the starting point of this thesis that asks about feminine ways of doing politics, especially the anti-racist dimension of their practices. The timeframe starts in the late 1980s, when the territorial rights of the descendants of quilombola communities were created. The work focuses on the practices of quilombola women from Rio de Janeiro, who, in transmitting knowledge, strengthen the bonds between people and the territories they inhabit. These actions, understood as territories of affection, expand spaces of subjectivity through the shifting feelings provoked by racist, sexist and classist dispositifs that affect their bodies and territories. The analysis unfolds in three vertices: the first focuses on the theoretical approaches that allow us to see the singularity of feminine actions; the second situates the historical conditions and feminine practices that made possible the redefinition of black community territories as quilombos; the third describes experiences in the areas of education, religion and politics that go beyond the territorial claim. The work is theoretically based on an analysis of the body, affection, and politics, inspired by intersectional feminist theories and approaches to the Philosophy of Difference (AU)
