Abstract

This thesis investigates the traits that characterizing the presence of theoretical approaches of knowledge organization, in their agglutinating cores, in the literature of the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO), according to its classification system, Classification System for Knowledge Organization Literature (CSKOL). It contextualizes the theoretical approaches of knowledge organization through a narrative that conceives the field of Knowledge Organization as a movement of theorization that has in ISKO its adequate and favorable stage. It classifies the theoretical approaches of knowledge organization from three theoretical cores and, through them, as poles of common objectives, a corpus of analysis is selected and the methodological instruments of Content Analysis (Bardin: 2009). are applied The characterizing traits of the presence of theoretical approaches in their cores is clarified by means of analysis and reflection made on author’s data of the texts of the corpus and analysis of categories, with the respective syntheses, inferences and interpretations. It concludes with a notional framework that informs the characteristics of the theoretical approaches of knowledge organization in each cores, namely the Ontological core, the Contextual core, and the Critical core.
