Abstract

This study translates and analyses 16 previously unpublished transcripts of Konstantin Stanislavski\'s acting classes in his last studio, the Opera-Drama Studio (1935 1938). The work is divided in two parts. After a brief introduction, where this work\'s goals are exposed, we present three chapters analysing the translated material. The first chapter historically contextualises the Opera-Drama Studios creation in the 1930s Moscow from the fusion of Stanislavski\'s previous project on a Theatre Arts Academy and his sister\'s director Zinaida Sokolova (1865 1949) private group of pupils. The second chapter presents and analyses a set of eight (8) stenographic transcripts on some of Stanislavski\'s training exercises during the year 1935. The third chapter deals with another series of eight (8) unpublished transcripts, that account for Stanislavskis experiments on a \"new rehearsing method\", as well as the dispute concerning his artistic heritage after hs death. At the end of the first part, a conclusion in drawn and goals for a further investigation are set. In the second part of this study, the whole unabridged set of 16 stenographic transcripts found at the Moscow Art Theatre Museum\'s Archives are presented fully translated into portuguese. At the end, we also present two appendixes. (AU)
