Abstract

In this report, is presented the use of Geotechnologies for the study of the landscape of Mosquito I, Mosquito II and Mosquito III Archaeological Sites, located in Narandiba City, Western region of São Paulo State. The area have chipped lithic materials. The work aims to study the landscape through the bias of the tools offered by Geotechnologies. Geotechnology guided the systematization of the collected data. To this, bibliographical surveys, fieldwork in the areas where archaeological sites are located, analysis of panoramic photographs, aerial photographs and satellite images were carried out. For the data systematization, electronic spreadsheets, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs, CAD and image processing tools were used. For the study of lithic collections, artifact production approaches were used in order to understand how the raw material was acquired, the production, use and disposal of the instruments, through a technological analysis. The results point to the occupation of hunter-gatherer groups with the production of lithic artifacts from silicified sandstone blocks and silicified sandstone, silexite and quartz pebbles. The chipping technique was direct with a hard hammer. The implementation of the Mosquito I, Mosquito II and Mosquito III Archaeological Sites are in a slope area. Mosquito III, on the other hand, is in a medium-sized area. (AU)
