| Abstract | |
Contemporary society, in constant change, yearns for quick movements, correct solutions, products, and services that represent it. Its historical trajectory demonstrates that the innovation of processes, services, artifacts, and other benefits has continually changed the way people relate and interact with the world, reaching, in the current context, an unprecedented relevance. In the beginning, inventions stemmed from technical mastery of natural phenomena to supply urgencies for survival. With the increase in scientific and technical knowledge, creations have diversified and empowered, directly impacting the progress of cities and societies, markets, and businesses. Throughout the 20th century, the strategic concept of innovation, associated with technological advances, acquired importance in the industrial and social environment, driven by demands for unprecedented attributes, and by the requirement for conveniences and improvements incorporated into daily life, thus overlapping with the character of the invention. Consequently, users started to be prioritized, acquiring prominence, and indicating their desires and expectations. Entering this century, the global digital path of interrelating with the world through instant and interactive connections has led to even more disruptive creations. However, the complexity of contemporary needs appoints into questioning the effectiveness of known and employed methods, indicating a limitation on the ability to generate appropriate innovations to experienced contexts, and aligned to distinguished realities. In the last decades, in the sense of innovating, trends have emerged for the application of creative and design methodologies, extracted from Design areas, and adopted globally as proceedings processes. Brazil incorporated this use by adopting Design Thinking and other agile tools to enhance the resolution of complex problems. The present research verified the effectiveness of the application of these models with companies, innovative ecosystems, and in the academic area, and, identified that there is the perception of specific improvements through their use. However, he found that these do not reach satisfactory rates of innovation in the world panorama, where the country is below the global average. The methodologies and processes used until now were insufficient in the challenge of proposing innovative solutions effectively. The conducted analysis identified flaws in the way of using the methods and in their theoretical-practical training, as well as gaps between technical and academic competences. Supported in this scope, the thesis sought to develop and propose an updated model of process to be used by professionals and teams that excel in achieving innovative creative results, in order to boost and enhance the attainment of innovation. The focus brought together structures and concepts of association between Design and the technical and technological aspects of Engineering and systems. It determined variables from the user's perspective and the context experienced, and for the technical and technological relevance in a sequential model of systematic procedures in seven cyclical stages. The resulting archetype is systemic, applicable to any segment or area, having been duly validated. The validation on the UNESP campuses of Bauru and Sorocaba and took place under the supervision of the academic advisor and the author, obtaining 100% effectiveness results in all teams and projects carried out. The results generated six products that constituted innovation, according to the Oslo Manual, resulting in patent application filing in the National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI. The proposed process achieved the objective and confirmed the research hypothesis as effectively applicable and satisfactory. Thus, the generation of innovation was proven in a supported and appropriate manner, with the purpose of evolutionary improvement and results for sustainable development with socioeconomic and academic benefits.
