Abstract

This thesis investigates if neoliberalism had any influence on the collective action of the LGBT movement in Brazil. For that, the trajectory of the Brazilian Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trasvesti and Transsexual (ABGLT) between 1995 and 2015 was analyzed, as well as the associative relationship with the governments FHC, Lula and Dilma in the construction of social policies. In addition, the study also analyzed the main demands, forms of organization, collective actions and ways of mobilizing resources; the strategies outlined in each context; the main allies, such as the federal government and other social movements, and main enemies, such as evangelical neoconservatism; as well as the discourses, conceptions and positions of ABGLT. The analysis involved a dialogue between the theoretical-methodological elements of Marxism and those of other references, such as the contributions of Michel Foucault, feminism and studies on "democratic construction (AU)
