Abstract

The optical microscopy is nowadays an important instrumental area to the high demand for this technique in almost all technology fields. Due to this fact and based on the existing microscope OTI-1, this work proposes the use of polymer concrete as an option for its structure. This work presents the design techniques and the methodology for the polymer concrete application in precision equipments of small sizes. The design techniques for moulds and polymer concrete parts are introduced and discussed as well as the methodology for the material processing. The work highlight the importance of the design tools as CAD, CAE, DFA and FMEA used in investigations and design analysis of this kind. (AU)
