Abstract

The elimination of trade barries and its consequent increase in competition in the domestic market has been led companies to enhance their competitive advantages through satisfying customer expectatíons regarding to quality, cost and delivery. In this context, product development has become even more important to promote the competitiveness of companies. This dissertation presents a proposal to the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to the management of product and process development. The approach proposed brings together the Enhanced QFD and the QFD by Akao, by appending the tables and matrices of the QFD by Akao to the phases of the Enhanced QFD . The proposal is detailed by presenting the deployments as well as the interaction between the two models and the theoretical basis for justifying such an interactions. The description of the proposal is preceded by a bíbliographical review on quality planning and the four different models of QFD described in the international literature. Finally, the applicability and main benefits of the proposal are analysed (AU)
