Abstract | |
This work studies semisubmersible platforms positioning problems. A method for real time monitoring of the moored floating units planar position was developed using the information obtained from the measuring of the generated tensions at the top of the mooring system componente lines. The method was evaluated with a scale reduced model. The monitoring of the floating unit planar position is obtained using a software specifically developed for this purpose. For evaluating the proposed method, a testing device composed by a reducedscale modelo f the platform and a dynamics sensors system to acquire and analyze the signals was used. The outputs obtained from the simulated movements induced in the model in order to evaluate the proposed system performance are presented and analyzed. (AU) |
