Abstract

This work presents an introduction to methods used to analyze gases using chemical semiconductor sensors. The SNO2 based Taguchi sensor is presented as the most importante type of sensors with respect to practical application. The basic principles of transduction are presented showing the interaction between adsorbed particles and the change of consuctance of the sensor. The technology of fabrication of sensors including a survey on typical experimental setups for the determination of conductance are presented. Parameter relation to study the sensor behavior are included. The system fabricated to test the sensors is presented. This system is compound of a gas chambre and manifold flowmeter to control the gas flow. Instruments and bias condition to control the sensors and to storage the data are described. Results obtained with testo n organic solventes analyze are presented as validation of this work. (AU)
