Abstract
This work studies the methodology for unreinforced masonry structure buildings design. Considering national and international codes and specifications, guidelines were established in order to direct resistance capacity assessment, materials, and dimension methods selections that could be used to masonry structure design. Based on constructability and constructive rationalization, a number of solutions are presented for the integration between structure rationalization and those other systems that have a major level of interference with the project execution. A proposal for a project process description is done, considering, for each distinct stage of development, the aspects guidelines for rationalization implementation during the building plan. (AU)
