Abstract

This master project aims at studying of thermodynamic properties, efficiency and bounds for thermal machines composed of interacting particles/entities. Started in the undergraduate project, we intend to advance in three different directions: interacting Brownian particles under periodicically drivings in order to promote the conversion of heat into output work, interacting systems displaying phase transitions and a collisional approach for Brownian particles, in which the system interacts sequentially with the thermal bath and the applied external force. Finally, we intend to extend, compare and propose new bounds for the efficiency, output power and dissipation. This part of the project will be developed in collaboration with Prof. Karel Proesmans, which will be his co-advisor. (AU)
