Abstract | |
Assuming that writers share the craft of writing, this work analyses the Cycle of sugar cane by José Lins do Rego and Time and wind by Erico Verissimo to investigate the production and circulation of ideas as region and regionalism. It is analyzed the publishers who gave them support for became professional writers. The work also rebuilds the debates around the region and regionalism produced in Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Sul establishing a repertoire of themes and problems common to both writers, despite being equated in different ways. The tension between particular and singular, between local, regional and national guides the study of the novels, investigating if region and regionalism structures the narrative and sense makes the connections between literary form and social process (AU) |
