The dissertation studies the institutional history of archaeology in Brazil, from 1870 to 1917. This is carried out through the study of research activities at the Amazonian Botanic Museum, Paraense Museum and Paulista Museum. It is possible to conclude that there were three main influences in this process: scholarly globalization, nationalism and colonialism (AU)
