Abstract

The main goal of this work is the design of fuzzy controllers for a rate herbicide application control according to an infestation map of georeferenced weeds using commercial regulator valves. To control the out flow two types of valves are considered. In the first type the crossing area is controlled through a needle and in the second type through a spheric profile. The fuzzy control design was based on PID controllers obtained from the sprayer system models and tests in a static sprayer prototype. An interface and a simulator in LabView environment were built to implement and test the performance of the developed control algoritms. Simulation and experimental results were obtained for two cases. In the first, the set point was varied and in the second a perturbation was applied by disconnecting sections valves of the application bar. Finally, the obtained results for the PID and fuzzy controllers are evaluated and compared. Results of tests and simulator showed the efficiency of the obtained fuzzy controler in respect to reference changes and to a perturbation input when a section bar was turned off. (AU)
