Abstract
Invention patent: An apparatus and method are described for measuring the hardness of lignocellulosic materials, comprising a portable electromechanical apparatus that measures the hardness of materials, operating according to a principle similar to that of the Brinell hardness test, having an electronic assembly comprising a distance sensor of the type of an incremental magnetic encoder (11) which makes it possible to automate the hardness readings by means of an integrated digital signal controller (40).
