The invention relates to structured microfluidic devices for generating a diffusive concentration gradient in biocompatible materials, which are easy to assemble and reusable. The invention describes the use of the device in any process requiring the ideal conditions of the substrate to be known, or the ideal conditions for cell performance, estimation of kinetic parameters and chemical response evaluation, such as chemotaxis.
