The present invention relates to a lignocellulosic biomass pre-treatment method, preferably for sugar cane bagasse, from protic ionic liquids, in order to produce sugars via enzymatic hydrolysis in second generation production of ethanol or other potential products from fermentation processes. Pre-treatment is performed by synthesis, recovery and reuse of protic ionic solvents. The yield of the pre-treatment was of 53% by mass, with high biomass solubilisation, and high glucose conversion during hydrolysis (70%).
