Abstract
The present invention relates to the isolation and identification of operons from the organism Xylella fastidiosa. This operon is called XfGUM operon, which contains 9 genes involved in the production of compounds with xanthan gum-like properties, the expression products and genes of this operon and their various uses are also part of the present invention.
