Thiago Augusto Leão Pires

I graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelors Degree) in the Faculty of Health Sciences of São Paulo. I Participated as a research assistant on the amphibians collection in MZUSP and as a FAPESP-TT3 in Laboratory of Ecology and Evolution at the Butantan Institute. Also participated as a colaborator researcher in the Young Researcher Project: Diversity, distribution and conservation of the herpetological fauna of the state of São Paulo, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ricardo J. Sawaya. I received a master's degree at the graduate program in ecology - UNICAMP. I am also finished my PhD degree in the postgraduate program in ecology - UNICAMP, with a sandwich period at the Australia National University, under the supervision of Dr. Dan Rosauer. Currently, I do my Post-Doctorate at USP-EACH, supervised by Prof. Dr. Luis C. Schiesari, leading the project "Effects of the urbanization gradient on the diversity and structure of aquatic macroinvertebrate communities in the Alto Tietê basin".Currently, I am a teacher, scientific researcher and data analyst, and I have an interest in ecology of standards and processes, seeking ecological, evolutionary, historical and spatial factors as well as stressors in ecological communities in addition to this, I am recently interested in a study of metacience, analyzing the structuring of postgraduate studies in Brazil, seeking to understand the patterns of training and employability of doctors in Brazil. I have extensive experience in community ecology, quantitative ecological and spatial analyses, predictive models and natural history of amphibians.
