I hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics (2019) from the Graduate Program in Linguistics at the Federal University of São Carlos (PPGL-UFSCar), specializing in the Description, Analysis, and Automatic Processing of Natural Languages (NLP). I also hold a Masters degree (2015) and a Bachelors degree (2012) in Linguistics from the same institution, both with an emphasis on NLP, in addition to a postgraduate specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data (2023) from the University of São Paulo (USP). I previously served as a professor at the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), where I was a member of the Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies Center and the Sexual and Gender Diversity Center. Currently, I am a professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), affiliated with the Institute of Science, Technology, and Innovation (ICTI) and the Graduate Program in Language and Culture (PPGLinC/UFBA). At UFBA, I hold the position of Coordinator of the Research and Extension Support Center at ICTI. I also serve as Vice-Coordinator of the Research Group on Formalisms and Semantic Applications (FORMAS/UFBA) and Vice-Coordinator of the Special Committee on NLP of the Brazilian Computer Society. Additionally, I am a researcher with the Lexicon, Grammar, and Opinion (LeGOS) group and the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship, actively contributing to advancements in the fields of linguistics and technology. My academic activities include supervising research projects conducted by undergraduate students (funded by CNPq, private initiatives, or voluntary programs) as well as advising masters theses and doctoral dissertations. I am also a collaborator with the Doctoral School of Affiliation in Literature, Languages, Human and Social Sciences at Université Clermont Auvergne, France. I coordinate research projects funded through UFBA and the Bahia Research Support Foundation (FAPESB) in the areas of Descriptive Linguistics and Computational Linguistics.
