Guilherme Augusto Silva dos Santos

Graduated in Medicine, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) Rio Grande - RS (1998). Residency in Internal Medicine (3 years) Hospital Nossa Senhora da Conceição - RS (2001) and residency in Hematology at the Hospital of UFRGS - HCPA (2003). PhD in Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto - FMRP-USP (2009). Post doctoral FMRP-USP in 2011-2012 and "Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Harvard Medical School" in 2012-2013. Has experience in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology of Cancer. Have used experimental drugs with anti-tumor activity but with poorly defined mechanisms of action, such as alpha-tocopherol succinate and alkylphospholipids, as tools for the discovery of new therapeutic targets. He was Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (2006-2009) and the Laboratory (Morfo-funcional) (2007-2008), Faculty of Medicine, University of Ribeirão Preto - UNAERP. He is currently Professor of Medicine III in the disciplines of Pathology and Pathophysiology, Semiology of the Adult and Internal Medicine, University of Ribeirão Preto - UNAERP.
