Associate Professor at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil, since 2014. Works in the field of Elementary Particle Physics, with emphasis on phenomenological applications of Quantum Chromodynamics to high-energy collisions, both in particle accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and in cosmic ray detectors. Has obtained, in collaboration with other researchers, significant results on the structure of the proton, the dynamics of quarks and gluons, and nuclear structure. Supervises Masters and PhD students in the Graduate Program in Physics at UFSC. Completed postdoctoral research at the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (IPPP), Durham University, UK (2010/2011 and 2012/2013), and at Universidade de São Paulo (2011/2012 and 2013/2014).
